Terms of service
Last updated:
These terms apply when you use SousChef: the app at app.sous-chef.eu, the API at api.sous-chef.eu (including the connection to ChatGPT and Claude) and the website sous-chef.eu. By creating an account or using SousChef you accept them. How we handle personal data is in the privacy policy.
1. The service
SousChef is a kitchen book for restaurants and tavernas: recipes, menus, pantry and stock, suppliers, orders, costs and allergen information, in Greek and English. The provider is [OWNER: legal name, address, contact email] (“we”). The service is offered to professionals. [OWNER: confirm that it is offered to businesses only, and any price, plan or trial terms; there is no charge at the moment.]
2. Your account
- You sign in with an emailed code or with Google. You need an email address you control, and you are responsible for what happens under your account.
- One account is for one chef or business. Do not share your sign-in with people who should not have access to your kitchen data.
- Give correct information and keep your email address up to date. You must be at least 18 years old [OWNER: confirm].
3. Acceptable use
Do not use SousChef to break the law or other people’s rights, to attack or overload the service, to try to reach another person’s data, to bypass the limits of the service (for example the limits on sign-in codes, AI imports and tool calls), to upload malware or content you have no right to upload, or to resell the service without our written agreement. We may suspend an account that does.
4. Your data and our licence
What you put into SousChef (recipes, prices, stock, suppliers, orders, photos) remains yours. You give us the right to store, copy, process and display it only as needed to run SousChef for you: to show and calculate it, to back it up, to import what you ask us to import, and to answer ChatGPT or Claude when you connect them. We do not use it for advertising and we do not sell it.
You promise that you may use the data you enter, including the contact details of suppliers. You can export all of it and delete your account at any time in Settings.
5. AI imports and the ChatGPT and Claude connections
- AI import is optional. When you run it, the content you import is sent to DeepSeek, as the privacy policy describes. The AI only proposes a draft; you review it before anything is saved.
- You can connect ChatGPT (OpenAI) or Claude (Anthropic) to your account. Your use of them is under your own account with them and their own terms and policies, which apply in addition to these terms and which we do not control. What they do with the answers they receive is their responsibility, not ours.
- Changes from ChatGPT or Claude are shown as a preview and saved only after you confirm. You can disconnect them at any time in Settings.
6. Messages to suppliers
SousChef never sends a message to a supplier by itself, and neither do ChatGPT or Claude through SousChef. It prepares the order text; you send it from your own phone, Viber, WhatsApp or email. You are responsible for what you order and for the suppliers you contact.
7. Check the results
SousChef calculates costs, quantities and allergens from the data you or your suppliers provided. A missing fact is shown as unknown, not guessed, but the data may still be incomplete or wrong. Allergen information in particular is a help and not a legal guarantee: check the product labels and your suppliers’ information before you tell a guest that a dish is safe. You are responsible for your menus, prices and food safety.
8. Availability
SousChef is provided “as is” and “as available”. We work to keep it running and to back it up daily, but we do not promise that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we may change or end features. Keep your own copy of what you cannot do without: you can export everything in Settings. [OWNER: confirm; add any support or availability commitment.]
9. Liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as for intent or gross negligence, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence. [OWNER: liability limits, for example a cap on our total liability, an exclusion of indirect loss such as lost profit, and whether they are enforceable in your jurisdiction; to be written by a lawyer.]
10. Ending the service and deletion
- You can stop using SousChef and delete your account at any time in Settings. Your data is then deleted, and it leaves the backups as they expire, as the privacy policy says.
- We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts the service or other users at risk, and we try to tell you first and let you export your data. We may end the whole service with [OWNER: notice period, for example 60 days]’ notice and the chance to export.
11. Changes
We may change these terms. We change the date at the top and, for a change that matters, tell you in the app or by email before it applies. If you keep using SousChef after that, you accept the new terms; if you do not agree, you can delete your account.
12. Governing law and courts
These terms are governed by [OWNER: Greek law?]. The courts of [OWNER: city, for example Athens?] have jurisdiction, without taking away any right you have as a consumer, if you are one, to use the courts of your own country.
13. Contact
Write to [OWNER: contact email] for anything about these terms or the service.
